See & do
Vrå prehistoric village: a Stone Age hamlet in quiet forest
Reconstructed huts, a hearth and a clearing — a short outing that feels farther away than it is.
10 September 2026 · Calendar note
Vrå prehistoric village sits in the forest outside Katrineholm. Reconstructed Stone Age huts with reed and thatch roofs, a stone hearth and benches in the clearing — a place with a story, not just a pin on the map.
Practical tips
Wear decent shoes. This is forest and clearing, not pavement. Expect a quiet walk rather than a staffed museum. We do not list our own opening hours — check signs and municipal information before you go.
The photographs come from the Katrineholmsguiden archive (2020). Vegetation and the path may look different now. Combine easily with Stadsparken or Duveholmssjön the same day.
